London, ON – tbk is honoured to have been chosen by Goodwill Industries, Ontario Great Lakes to build its new website. This will be an entirely custom, accessible website built on WordPress, the world’s most popular Content Management System (CMS) software.
Goodwill Industries, Ontario Great Lakes is one of seven regional Goodwill Industries International Inc. locations in Canada, serving much of southwestern Ontario. As a non-profit social enterprise, they offer work opportunities, skills development, and social integration for people who face barriers to employment. On several platforms, including donated goods, thrift retail, recycling, food and hospitality, Goodwill creates meaningful work for people and provide low-cost clothing and household items for deserving families. This Goodwill branch operates a network of 11 community stores, 17 donation centres, two career centres, and a social purpose café.
“tbk aims to align with—and propel—the values and goals of Goodwill Industries, Ontario Great Lakes,” explains Andre LeFort, Principal & VP of Technology, tbk. “Website accessibility and inclusivity will be a special focus of this project. We want the site to be as friendly and accessible as the in-person experience that Goodwill provides to members of our community. It will meet the stringent requirements within the WCAG 2.0 Level AA guidelines, while being mindful of the broad spectrum of abilities for all visitors to the site.”
Once complete, the new, responsive website for Goodwill Industries, Ontario Great Lakes will include intuitive UI/UX, as well as:
