London, ON – Melissa McInerney, CEO and Chief Creative Officer at tbk, has been selected as a business advisor for Fanshawe College’s LeapIN Business Accelerator program.
The LeapIN Business Accelerator program is hands-on learning experience designed for early-stage Fanshawe College founders to validate their business ideas, establish a minimum viable product (MVP), and build a roadmap to launch their start-up. tbk’s CEO is delighted to be a part of it.
“Talking with students who have ambitious goals inspires me,” says Melissa. “I’m there to guide young entrepreneurs with business coaching, but I often find myself learning from them, too. Their enthusiastic determination takes me back to when I first started my entrepreneurship journey. It reminds me why I choose to be on that path.”
The 12-week program includes over 30 expert-led workshops covering a wide variety of topics—everything from customer discovery to financial modeling to pitching to marketing and sales. The program is split into two phases:
“Marketers solve problems,” explains Melissa. “It’s not enough to say my business solves X problem. Why is the problem happening? Who experiences the problem? When and how often does that pain point occur? Only then can we work to fix the problem through viable business solutions.”
Every company accepted into the LeapIN Business Accelerator program receives $5,000 in funding to jumpstart their start-up. tbk is proud to be a part of this program, and we look forward to seeing Fanshawe students’ businesses grow.
