Hino Motors Canada builds tough trucks that operate under demanding conditions to deliver what they promised. They needed an experienced web developer to build a new website that could do the same.
In addition to a public-facing marketing website, Hino Canada also wanted a custom quoting tool to help them spec Hino trucks across the country. It was an ambitious undertaking, but tbk was quick to get the project rolling forward.
Hino Motors Canada, a Toyota Group Company, produces and distributes high-quality light-, medium-, and heavy-duty commercial trucks. With more than 40 years of history, Hino is well known for its extensive coast-to-coast dealership network and its customer care program. Hino Canada’s head office is located in Mississauga, Ontario, with manufacturing operations in Woodstock, Ontario. It uses leading engineering technologies to produce reliable, comfortable, and cost-efficient trucks.
tbk partnered with Hino Motors Canada to develop a custom WordPress website. Designed to serve a wide audience of people, the site was built in multiple languages (English, French, and Chinese). Key pages were optimized with keyword-rich content and technical SEO best practices, allowing the Hino brand to rank well in search engines like Google.
One of the main goals of the website was to help people easily find a dealership close to them. To achieve this, tbk built an interactive “Find a Dealer” location-based tool with all authorized Hino dealerships in Canada. We added prominent call-to-action buttons throughout the website for conversion rate optimization.

tbk is particularly proud of a custom software solution that we engineered for Hino Canada. The backend tool features sophisticated “if this, then that” conditional coding and physics, eliminating time-consuming, complex calculations that Hino’s staff previously had to do manually. The sales tool factors in considerations such as weight distribution to approve or deny the planning of the truck.
The WordPress website that tbk built—combined with our custom quoting portal—is saving Hino’s sales team legwork and headspace while improving the customer experience and increasing sales leads.
In the first year following the website launch, there was a ~20% increase in page views. People were navigating to more pages on the website and engaging with the content. Within the second year of the website being live, organic traffic increased by 33% as more people discovered the website from SEO efforts.
Hino was known mostly for small crew cab trucks, but they wanted to build their reputation for medium-duty trucks. Prior to the website launch, Hino wasn’t rank on the first page for “medium duty trucks” and “medium duty trucks new me,” but now they rank on Google’s first page for these search terms thanks to tbk’s product and model keyword optimizations.
It’s now easier than ever for website visitors to find their nearest Hino dealership. The Hino Motors Canada website sends over 2,000 potential customers to a Hino Dealer each year.
Our sales portal has created more consistent, accurate quoting due to automation. On average, Hino dealers across Canada are managing over 3,200 quotes a month using the custom portal that tbk built.
