A day in the life of tbk’s Marketing Director:

  • Morning Research – You start your day by reading the latest in marketing trends online to continuously hone your skills in an ever-changing field.
  • Daily Meeting – Early in the morning, you join tbk’s marketing team meeting, connecting with your team for 15 minutes to talk about the day. You help ensure your team is clear and ready to complete the deliverables needed for the marketing campaigns and projects being executed for tbk’s clients.
  • Client Consultant – After that, you join client meetings throughout the day to continuously hone their marketing strategy, pitch new ideas and programs, analyze and present data/insights, and ensure the client’s KPIs and business goals are being achieved through effective marketing.
    • You are a natural leader and have over 10 years of experience consulting directly with Canada’s CEOs, CMOs, CFOs and more. You handle yourself well under pressure in meetings and can handle strategic questioning from clients.
  • Client Presentation – Later that day you meet with a multinational company that chose tbk to launch their new campaign. You present a full marketing and advertising strategy with deliverables, scope, creative concepts, targeting strategies and performance forecasts.
  • Team Support – After that meeting, you regroup internally with the marketing team to plan the next steps based on client feedback, comments, and discussions.
  • Strategy Development – Your afternoon is spent researching, planning, and executing a new campaign for a medium-sized business, looking to expand its services into the US.
  • Leadership – You complete the day with a one-on-one with tbk’s VP of Marketing, Amanda Wolfe. As your teammate, Amanda is supporting you with her 10 years of experience leading marketing teams and working with Canada’s most innovative companies.

As you can see in the above daily in the life, this role is a central role in the agency and requires senior level experience as a past Marketing Director, preferably executing marketing campaigns and strategies for at least 30 clients and experience working at a marketing agency for a significant portion of your career.

Your skills and experience:

  • A genuine interest in business and performance – you read and educate yourself to better your leadership, communication, business, and marketing skills.
  • A strong portfolio with experience in branding, digital marketing, digital advertising, email marketing, traditional media, CRO, social media and more.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present marketing strategies, data/insights/results and build alignment across multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead marketing teams, create and execute new marketing strategies for clients and analyze data and trends to achieve campaign goals and KPI targets.
  • Empower marketing teams to become better marketing strategists by supporting their personal development and training.
  • Ability to conduct market research to keep abreast of trends and competitor’s marketing movements.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s level education in Marketing, Communications, or other relevant educational program.
  • 10+ years of work experience in marketing, preferably executing marketing campaigns and strategies for at least 30 clients and experience working at a marketing agency for a significant portion of your career.
